Leah Stupeck
I have been
dancing for 21 years and have enjoyed my career as a dance
teacher, chorographer, and former professional dancer. I
graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Dance Performance and a minor in Educational
Dance. While at Ball State, I was a member of the Ball State
Dance Theatre. After graduating from college, I moved to New
York City to pursue my dream of becoming a professional
dancer. I made my break in the biz by being cast in three
movies: "Big Apple," "Off Broadway," and "Glitter" starring
Mariah Carey. I also danced in "A Hometown Christmas with
Steve Gatlin" in Myrtle Beach, SC. After that, I moved home to
be with Grant because I knew he would never move to New York
and though I loved dancing there I couldn’t live without
Grant’s love and support. I have been blessed to be able teach
dance since 2001 and I currently teach at the Community Arts
Academy at IPFW and at Steppin' Out. My students have
performed and competed locally, regionally, and nationally.
They have received high honors at all competitions and have
produced four national championships. Many of my students are
now pursuing their love of dance in college and plan to dance
professionally or teach after graduation. Outside of teaching,
I love to spend time with my husband, Grant, and our two
miniature dachshunds, Augie and Snickers. |
