At Steppin’ Out we don’t require you to audition for class placement, but because auditioning is a part of a dancer’s life here are some auditions that may interest you:

River North Chicago Dance Company Company Audition
April 10, 2005, The Ruth Page Center, 1016 N. Dearborn, IL 10am sign in, 11am audition

At auditions, please be prepared for a ballet combination (no Pointe) and jazz combination followed by River North Chicago repertoire. Warm up not provided. No fee. Please bring headshot and resume. River North Chicago is a 13-member company whose contract runs from July-May. Company positions TBD. Auditions also offer the opportunity for summer or season apprenticeship or an invitation to the River North Chicago Summer Intensive.

Spring Workshops, April 3 and 17, 2005

April 3 Workshop – A full-day schedule of classes taught by River North Chicago’s acclaimed workshop faculty! Ballet technique, jazz technique, repertoire, and ASE (acting, style, & expression) taught by Artistic Director Frank Chaves, Assistant to the Artistic Director Sara Bibik, Rehearsal Director Mari Jo Irbe, Co-Artistic Director Emeritus Sherry Zunker, Ballet Mistresses Claire Bataille and Laura Wade, Company Alumnus and Choreographer Jeremy Plummer, and others!

April 17 Workshop - Be a River North Chicago company member for a day! Your day will begin with a 1 1/2 - 2 hour jazz technique class, followed by a full day of rehearsal which includes learning choreography, staging, and coaching. Faculty for this workshop includes Artistic Director Frank Chaves, Assistant to the Artistic Director Sara Bibik, Rehearsal Director Mari Jo Irbe, Co-Artistic Director Emeritus Sherry Zunker, Company Alumnus and Choreographer Jeremy Plummer, and others! Parents are invited to observe their children in class for the last 15 minutes of this special day.

Cost: $85 or $170 for both. Training guideline: One-day workshops are designed for dancers aged 12 & up, intermediate – advanced levels. Class schedule: 10am-5pm
