Programming Instructions for PUL-275 & PUL-275 Deluxe Ultralight and
RF-275M Stubborn Dog Receivers
These receivers contain electronics to detect the
magnetic field carried by the containment system boundary wire,
translates them and delivers a static correction. The static
correction is delivered through two contact probes that touch the
dog's neck.
There are two sets of contact probes that can be
used on your receiver. The longer probes should be used for dogs
with long fur.
The receiver is enclosed in a waterproof case and is
mounted on a polypropylene collar. The collar will fit a dog with
neck sizes from 9 to 22 inches. If your dog's neck is smaller or
larger than this, the receiver can be mounted on any nylon or
leather collar of appropriate size.
The receivers contain an LED indicator light that
acts as a low battery indicator and confirms which one of the five
correction levels are set on the receiver.
The receivers have a memory back-up so when you
replace the battery, you will not have to reset the correction
level. The LED indicator light will flash for the correction level
last set. IE: Three flashes indicate level 3.
Changing the correction level - The receiver is
factory set at level one. The correction levels change incrementally
from level one to level five. Remove the switch cover with a small
coin. With the battery installed, press the small button on the
receiver until the LED lights and then release. The LED will then
flash to show the current correction level. To change to the next
level, push the button again within five seconds of the last flash.
The button must be pressed within five seconds from the last flash
to change to the next level. After setting the correction level,
replace the switch cover to protect the switch.

Testing the receiver - Attach the test light to the probes. Walk
towards the boundary wire until the test light begins to flash.
This indicates the receiver is functioning properly. If the test
light does not flash, check the battery installation and that the
test light is secured under the probes. If the test light still
does not flash, check the battery for full voltage.
Placing the receiver on your dog - When placing the receiver on
your dog's neck, make sure it is positioned where the two probes are
touching your dog's skin. If your dog's fur is so thick that it
keeps the probes from touching the skin, you can use the longer
probes and/or thin or shave the fur. Good contact with the skin is
essential.
The collar is properly positioned when you are able to get one
finger between the probes and your dog's skin.
Caution - Leaving the collar on too tight and for long periods of
time can cause Pressure Necrosis. This is a condition where the
skin deteriorates over time. To prevent this, check and clean your
dog's neck regularly. If a rash appears, remove the receiver for a
few days. When replacing the receiver, make sure the probes and
your dog's neck are clean.
Check the probes regularly for tightness. Hand tighten and then
turn 1/4 turn with pliers or a wrench.
Dog Fence Accessories
Order accessories such as batteries, receiver probes and
washers, extra wire and flags, lightning protection and nylon
collars. These products come with a 110v AC Adapter. If
the power requirements in your country are 220v, you will need
to purchase a voltage converter.
